In the first week of Tootsies Corner we are going to talk about the players and how they reacted to the big win this weekend over the Hawks. Most would say when you play the Hawks that the game can be called a little one sided by the referees, but something was different about this one with the Hawks, it was called evenly!

When the Puckups last played the hawks the game was close but only due to bad calls and typical choppy play by the hawks causing Troy Walters to get into a fight which eventually led to him getting kicked out along with the opposing player Nick Shotwell (whose name clearly says nothing about his shooting ability). Eventually after fighting through the bad calls and choppy play the Puckups came out with a 5-2 victory over the Hawks, they then prevailed with ease over the Junkyard Dawgs with their first playoff game victory.

Anyways back to the this weekend’s game, we all felt good and we played hard with great shooting ability from the brother combination of Dan Watkoski and Paul Watkoski, to the great defensive skills of Dan himself it was an all around awesome game for all of us including goaltender Dave Sny, helping out tremendously with some big saves in the game. With that being the second playoff game that gets the team off to a good start with the win in the first week over the Junkyard Dawgs.
